What we collect

For the free trial, the app sends a Candle-specific hash of your Windows installation ID and records the trial's start and expiry times. The raw Windows identifier stays on your computer. The server retains this trial record so reinstalling cannot create a new trial. Short-lived hashed network identifiers limit abuse of activation requests. Your trial lasts 24 hours from first activation, and no payment details are required.

Your email; your license key (stored as a one-way hash) and plan dates; a random device ID created by the app (not tied to your hardware); payment status from our payment processors; waitlist emails.

What we don't collect

Card numbers or crypto wallet keys (Lemon Squeezy and Coinbase Commerce handle payments on their own secure pages). Your trades and settings stay on your own computer.

Who processes data for us

Lemon Squeezy (card payments, receipts, license keys), Coinbase Commerce (crypto payments), Cloudflare (hosting and our database).

Why

To sell and deliver Candle, check licenses, send receipts and important notices, and answer support email.

How long

While you're a customer and up to 2 years after, or as long as tax law requires for payment records. Waitlist emails are deleted when you ask or 12 months after launch.
